Ingredients

  • 2 lb broccoli and cauliflower bag of fresh florets, not frozen
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  • Pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of our pot.
  • Place trivet or steamer basket or steamer rack in the bottom of the pot. You want to make sure your veggies are out of the water.
  • Put veggies on rack or in steamer basket.
  • Close lid and set your valve to Sealing, (if necessary) and set Pressure Cook or Manual time to 0 or 1 minute on Low pressure if you like your vegetables more firm. Zero is the recommended time, but some pots do not go down to 0. If your doesn't, just set it for 1 min on Low Pressure.
  • When the cooking time is done do a QR and release the pressure. Remove veggies from pot as soon as possible to stop them from overcooking.

Notes

Set your pot to Zero cook time? Is that a typo?
It's not an error or typo. Veggies are very delicate and mostly water so they cook very fast. You also need to take into consideration the pressurizing time inside the pot. During that time the water is boiling and creating steam. Your veggies are already starting to cook as soon as you close the lid.
So, by the time your pot has reached full pressure (10 min or so), your veggies are already cooked. Your pot is set to "0" min and will beep as soon as it has come to full pressure. Then you will QR and remove the veggies as soon as the pot has depressurized.
