- 1 cup water hot water from the tap
- 3 Tbsp olive oil
- 2½ cups bread flour
- 1½ tsp sugar
- 1½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp Italian seasoning
- ¼ tsp black pepper finely ground
- 1 tsp dried ground rosemary or 1 Tbsp freshly chopped rosemary
- 2¼ tsp yeast active dry rapid rise
Start by mixing your wet ingredients and place in the bottom of your bread machine mixing bowl with mixing paddle attached.
Mix your dry ingredients together, except for the yeast. Wait on that. Once you have measured and mixed your dry ingredients, pour right on top of your wet ingredients.
Make a little 'well' or divot in the dry ingredients for the yeast. Measure and pour yeast into divot.
Set your bread machine to the Dough setting and let it run its cycle. You won't be cooking this dough in the bread machine.
When the dough has finished its cycle, turn it out onto the counter and scrap the sides. Make sure the paddle is found and not in your dough. Let the dough sit for a few minutes and rest.
Divide dough in half. Either eyeball it or weigh it. Form each half into a round ball.
Place on cornmeal coated baking sheet and score the top and oil slightly.
Let rise again in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 1 hour. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes until loaves are nicely browned on the outside.
Brush with butter when finished if desired.
