Keep Warm – Setting the Temperature 🤯😳🤯

We probably all know by now that our pot has a Keep Warm feature. Did you also know the Keep Warm mode has three temperature settings? Yes, it does!

Keep Warm function:

The Keep Warm function also has three different temperature settings. This function will vary in some models

Less” mode: (~56°C/133°F)

Normal” mode: (~63°C/145°F)

More” mode: (~75°C/172°F)

Changing the temperature can vary a little for some models. You usually press the Keep Warm button repeatedly to toggle between Less-Normal-More, or use the Adjust button on some units.

The NPR Timer

The Keep Warm setting is also your NPR timer. This is why the Keep Warm setting always comes on automatically when you set your pot to cook. It’s called the ‘default’ setting and is a safety feature. So that when your food finishes cooking, the cook timer ends and now your NPR timer begins. The NPR timer will count up.During NPR mode the pot will slowly cool down the pressure will drop naturally. You won’t see or hear anything during NPR. There won’t be a big rush of steam or anything coming out of the pot. NPR is silent. If you let the NPR go until the float pin drops, that’s called a ‘Full NPR‘.

The Keep Warm function does NOT affect the NPR or any other type of release. The heat portion of this function won’t kick in until the pot temperature drops below 145 degrees (or other setting if you have it set to something other than ‘Normal’). There usually isn’t any reason to turn the Keep Warm setting off. Although, some Rice features recommend turning it off when you cook on the Rice setting.
